Aerospace Engineer III – Plano, Texas DPP is seeking an Aerospace Engineer III for an opportunity in Plano, Texas. Work arrangement: Onsite in Plano, TX W2 position; 12 months Candidates must be eligible to obtain a US security clearance. Position summary: Do you love bringing "out-there" ideas to life? We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field. As a thermal modeling focused aerospace engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting‑edge products and services for a range from advanced mission payloads, electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft. You’ll develop complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems. Your technical duties involve the design and development, analysis, and test of new products across the product lifecycle. About the team: This team integrates manned and unmanned aircraft systems for high‑performance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and aviation systems. They tailor solutions to customer cost, performance and schedule requirements, consistently exceeding expectations and providing a turnkey approach. Responsibilities include: Analyze and troubleshoot complex aircraft interior heat‑transfer models, heat exchanger flow paths and exhaust plume impingement problems within the NC3 business area. Plan, schedule, execute, and report thermal analysis campaigns for transport‑category aircraft to support other engineering disciplines. Review and compile results from the analysis team and present findings to internal teams, leadership, and customers. Work with flight test and ground test teams to plan and reduce data from aircraft testing to validate analysis models and demonstrate compliance with certification criteria. Identify gaps within existing thermal analysis workflows, assist with training and identify analysis tools to enable successful program execution. Education/experience: Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related discipline and typically 6+ years of relevant experience. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Experience using CFD tools to analyze aerodynamics and heat‑transfer problems for aerospace vehicles. Experience analyzing free‑ and forced‑convection heat‑transfer models for aerospace vehicle interiors. Successful execution of thermal analysis supporting 14 CFR Part 25 Type Certification (TC) or Supplemental Type Certification (STC). Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams. Preferred: Familiarity with testing to support thermal analysis model verification and validation; background in Aerospace and Defense industry. Understanding of system‑level static and dynamic modeling and simulation. Experience with Siemens STAR‑CCM+ and/or FLOEFD preferred. Knowledge of industry‑standard aerospace principles including parametric design, model‑based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics. US Citizen: This role requires the ability to obtain a Secret US security clearance.
