Job Title: Back End Engineer, AWS QuickSight

Location: Linthicum, MD (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Position Overview:

We are seeking two Junior Quicksight Back-End Developers to support enterprise-level reporting and BI initiatives. This role focuses on developing and optimizing backend solutions for AWS Quicksight, including data modeling, system integration, and performance improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience with BI and Data Warehouse environments, software engineering principles, and backend report development. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to data-driven decision-making by transforming raw data into scalable, efficient solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend solutions for enterprise applications and BI integrations.
  • Build and optimize AWS Quicksight reports and dashboards by working with raw data.
  • Plan, design, and implement complex software solutions individually or with a team.
  • Develop and maintain programming standards, reusable code, and best practices.
  • Apply modern application development methodologies throughout the SDLC.
  • Research and evaluate emerging backend and BI technologies for potential business use.
  • Serve as a technical resource, providing mentorship and guidance across teams.
  • Identify and resolve system performance bottlenecks, recommending improvements.
  • Enhance existing reporting systems by incorporating new data sources and requirements.
  • Support documentation template design and related backend reporting tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years of computer experience across two or more areas: systems analysis, systems programming, application programming, or equipment analysis.
  • Minimum 3 years of specialized experience as a hardware/software specialist or systems analyst in large-scale system development and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience developing backend reporting solutions using AWS Quicksight.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and backend development practices.
  • At least 2 years of experience in BI and Data Warehouse environments.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain dashboards and reports from raw data.
  • Experience extending reporting systems by integrating new data sources.
  • Familiarity with document template design (preferred).
