NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT:

UBMD Primary Care is seeking Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants (APP) . The APP will provide primary and episodic care to patients under the supervision of a physician. Responsible for delivery of quality care to patients, while emphasizing health promotion and/or disease prevention through patient education and coordination of care. Will interpret diagnostic test results, compile and record patient medical data, make diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients. The APP prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval, as well as administer or order diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms and lab tests. Graduate of accredited PA or NP program. Current NYS license as PA or NP certified by the NYS Education Department. Minimum of 2 years' experience in health care delivery, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting and preferably in family medicine or primary care. Excellent communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills required. Experience using Allscripts EMR system strongly preferred. Full time schedule to be determined by practice management. Pay range: $100,000/year to $105,000/year. New grads encouraged to apply!

Qualifications:
Education : Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current NYS license as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certified by the NYS Education Department.
Experience : Minimum of two years’ experience in health care delivery, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Excellent communication, flexibility, multi-tasking and organizational skills required. Experience using an EMR system strongly preferred. Knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human disease, illness or injury including, but not limited to, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health care measures.
