Job Summary

This is a full-time role located in the Greater Chicago Area for a Regional Editor Kankakee. The Regional Editor will be responsible for managing the editorial content for the Kankakee region, overseeing daily operations, coordinating with reporters and photographers, and ensuring timely and accurate news coverage. Additional responsibilities include editing articles, developing story ideas, maintaining the editorial calendar, and ensuring that all content aligns with Shaw Media’s quality standards and community-focused mission.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Writing, Editing, and Proofreading


• Experience in Content Strategy, Research, and Story Development


• Ability to manage and lead a team of reporters and photographers


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing platforms


• Ability to work independently and on-site in the Greater Chicago Area


• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field

Salary Range: 70,000 – 80,000
