Overview Asst Liquor Store Manager assists in the management of the daily operations in the liquor department. Serves as the department leader in the manager’s absence and performs managerial tasks as needed. Focuses on customer confidence, compliant operations, merchandising, inventory, and staff development. Essential Responsibilities Service: Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued; ensure department is merchandised per plan, in-stock, fresh, and providing quality value. Train associates on inventory/stocking and computer-assisted ordering. Assist customers in finding or suggesting product selection. Time allocation: 60% Leadership: Promote teamwork, establish merchandising, sales and profit goals, and empower the team to meet or exceed them. Help manage schedules to maintain high service standards during peak hours. Adhere to all laws and company guidelines. Time allocation: 20% Financial: Perform daily/weekly administrative tasks (communications, scheduling, pricing changes, orders, receiving products). Monitor inventory and product quality; participate in inventory planning. Ensure proper product temperatures and maintain temperature documentation per policy. Time allocation: 10% Compliance/Safety: Maintain safety, sanitation, and food handling standards; comply with regulatory requirements (USDA, COOL, DOA). Execute recalls/withdrawals, report safety issues, and uphold wage/hour policies. Foster a safety-focused culture. Ensure PPE, equipment safety, and remediation of hazards. Qualifications Education : High School / GED Language : English; Spanish preferred Experience : Supervisory experience 0-3 years minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Must be 21 years of age; legal authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain; successful pre-employment drug test and background check; strong customer service; interpersonal, motivational and communication skills; basic math; ability to handle stress; proficient with department computer applications. Environmental Factors Retail environment with physical demands: standing/walking, lifting up to required weights, occasional climbing, and working in varying conditions (indoor/outdoor, cold, hot, wet). Safety risk considerations include use of hazardous equipment and exposure to cleaning solutions. Travel None. Shifts are varied, including 3-4 evening shifts weekly.
